We went on our first camp out in Australia last weekend with our ward at church. We loved it. We bought a tent a year ago and had high hopes of going on many camp outs but it never happened so we were pretty excited to finally go.
It was a rainy weekend, it's actually been a extra rainy summer, but it was still warm. We left our house on Thursday {Australia Day} and headed to the camping area which was near the Colo River about an hour drive from our house. We missed the first turn off to the camp so we took the alternate route which took us down a dirt road for about 6 km. About a kilometer into our drive we came upon a head on crash that had just happened. There was a corner and each car couldn't see the other until it was too late. Both cars were in pretty bad shape but the drivers were doing alright. Jared called the police and we spent the next hour talking with the men and waiting. After an hour a few rangers pulled up and we decided to turn around and head back to the first exit we had missed. One of the men kept telling us thank you and that he was so happy that we had come down the road & that we had stopped. We are happy we were able to help out.
We arrived at camp around 3 and there were lots of ward members there playing and having fun.

We went on a "hike" up the road for about 15 minutes. It was a fun little trek. We look like we are all pretty serious hikers..look out.
