After church I made the kids stand out in front of the house for a mother with her children picture. They were not thrilled but they did it for me.
My mother's day started of with a bang at 2:26 am when I heard my cute Lucy's voice by my ear telling me that she peed AND pooed her bed. Huh? What? Are you kidding me? Please tell me you are kidding me? I can do pee at 2:26 am but POO? Have mercy! I peeled my eyeballs open and told her to go into the bathroom and start taking her jammies off. All of a sudden she yells, "Oh mom, hold on, it's just pee, there is no poo!" Hallelujah! I mean seriously, who poos at 2:26 am?? No worries, we got her cleaned up and back to sleep in a jiffy.
{this is the card Liv made for me at school. I don't drink tea, but the card was super cute!}
I woke 5 hours later to my kids telling me that I needed to stay in bed until they brought breakfast to me. I could hear them downstairs with Jared working away, pretty soon they appeared with a tray of milk and waffles with nutella, syrup & fancy fresh cream! It was really good!
When I got up to go downstairs I followed a trail of cream blops all the way to the kitchen. I think Lucy was carrying the spatula with cream on it . We spent the morning playing around and making up songs. I loved it. The kids showered me with my favorite gifts...the homemade tender stuff. Liv said to me a few days before Mother's Day, "Mom, I know what you are going to say if I ask you what you want for Mother's Day. You'll say you want the tender stuff." They know me well! :)
Rex looking dashing in his school uniform. This is a card he made for me at school.
This cracked me up! He created this for me at school. I asked him about the playful doctor and he said that I help make him better but I am not a real Dr. Ohhhh, I think he meant pretend, but playful works too. haha! Too cute. Funny Chef? I am not quite sure how to take that one! :)
Lucy's masterpiece. She informed me that it is a picture of me. All the dots on my face are my freckles. hahaha! Cute!
Seriously does it get any better than this? Rex made a paper drawing of me. I am digging the elephant legs! Sweet! :)
I truly love, love love them! They mean so much to me and I feel so incredible lucky to be their mom! They make me happy...not all the time..sometimes they make me want to scream, but I still adore them beyond words.
Being a mother is not an easy thing. It is hard and exhausting....but wow is it rewarding!!! I am thankful to be a mother. I want to be like my mother. I admire her. I have a wonderful mother in-law who I also admire. I love my sisters and sister in-laws for the good moms & examples that they are. Being a mother is a privilege. I love my four beautiful babies!
