melbourne

We took a road trip down to lovely Melbourne last month.  It took us 12 hours to drive there because we took little stops along the way...including the "Dog on a Tuckerbox".  It was just that...a statue of a dog on a tuckerbox.  We also stopped at a big submarine out in the middle of nowhere.  It was cool to see but it was about 5,000 degrees outside while we ate or lunch on a picnic table.
Melbourne was rainy, rainy, rainy, but still very beautiful.  The buildings were awesome and you could find quaint street after quaint street.  China town was a fun spot.

We stayed with our friends Ben & Nat (they used to live in Sydney but moved to Melbourne a year ago, the are from Utah), anyway, it was fun staying with them in their beautiful apartment right in the city.  We walked and walked around Melbourne in the rain.

Tons of cool colors and artistic things...

One night Nat offered to take our kiddos so that we could go out without having kids to worry about.  We ate dinner at an Italian restaurant called Vellettos.  It was on the cutest street ever.  We ate at a cute table under a canopy listening to the rain pounding down.

There is a cool alley way with tons of cool paintings.

One of the awesome malls we went into.

beautiful city....

The Australian Open was starting a few days after we left.  One day we want to go and experience it.

The Queen Victoria Market was fun and so huge! I love markets...

We look a little rough, but here we are all together after a fun, rain filled day walking around the city.  Nat & Ben were so great to us. They have always been such generous people.

We rode the cute trams around the city.  The kids felt like they were at Disneyland.

The kids rode scooters around.  It is so much quicker and easier.

LUCY, LIV, & LAINE
The boys had fun being boys...REX & GABE

So cute!

Yum looking cupcakes....not so yum anymore after you see the price.  $44.00 for a dozen

You better believe we stopped at Costco (twice actually).  It was beautiful, wonderful and so fun!  We walked around for hours, three actually.

There were a lot of similar foods and thinhs at Costo, yet there were a lot of Australisan items too.
Of course the first thing we did was stuff our faces...

We drove down to Phillip Island which is a cout two hour drive,  We had a great time!!

We went to a fun farm and each of the kids were able to milk Sophie the cow...

Phillip Island

Each night hundreds of tiny penguins come in from the ocean and you can sit and watch them.. It
was facinating and so cute to see them waddle around,

Our Costco stash...

The last night we stayed at my brother in laws  parents house. It was so nice of them.

                                                                      Seriously cute, I tell ya!

Cute little penguins

We had a blast together!!  We are big fans of Melbourne!!

It looks like a lot of fun! I love your family! I too love Costco. I need to see if they have a big pack of sippy's at our location. That display suddenly looked delicious.

I love the photo of Rex holding Jack. We are excited to get a brother here for Max.

You all look very happy to be on vacation...with exception of Lucy at the Market.

Love you all!

Melbourne is amazing. I wish we had known that you were in Australia whilst we were there! You should definitely make it a goal to go to the Australian open. It is incredible. Jenny (Jared's friend from high school)
