rainbows & polka-dots

8 little girls=a whole lot of girly fun

a few weeks ago i asked lucy what kind of birthday bash she would like and she told me a rainbow party...a few days later it turned into a rainbow polka-dot party.  so i decked out the house in colors & dots. we had planned on having the party in the backyard, but it was raining cats & dogs so i rearranged the set-up and made do.

no lucy did not turn 150 years old.  there are only 4 candles on the cake..and 4 sparklers..the rest is just a whole lot of sugar & lollies...every 4 year olds dream, right?!

a rainbow of cake colors...

i made each girl a ribbon dancing wands and they had fun dancing around and acting silly...cute girls!

here they are discussing the latest & greatest in dance moves these days.

lucy in her cute dress from g&g finch (she got it in the mail on thursday and she wore it that day...friday, oh and then again on saturday for her party...she might like her dress just a little bit) :)

liv was a champ and was in charge of the bracelet making table.  the girls had fun making their own creations.  each girl wanted a necklace that looked like a choker instead of a bracelet.  no one passed out so that's good...

zara showing off her design..

rex spent some time hiding behind the treadmill.  when i asked him what was wrong he told me that everything was too girly and he had nothing to do.  sorry dude!!
jack was rather chill in his highchair.  poor kiddo didn't get a morning nap because i was too busy getting things organized. so...a few minutes later we found him like this...

sawing logs...

luce getting a birthday kiss from baron

oh and then we moved onto nail painting.  i would paint one girl's nails and then another girl would see it and want it so some of the girls ended up with ten million layers of nail polish and glitter.

some of the men talking about...I don't know...probably anything other than rainbows, nail polish and dancing wands. :)

the birthday crew (l to r zara, lena, elissa, lucy, ella, caylin, liv and daisy)

cute rainbow toes

the grin on lucy's face when i lit the sparklers was priceless.  she was beaming!!

hip,hip hooray!!

what 4 year old girl or child for that matter...alright any human being..doesn't like a little present opening time!!

i love her little frosting face!  we love you lucy!  happy birthday sweet girl! xo

It was fun to see all the cute photos of Lucy's party. When there is no room on the cake, it is a great idea to put the writing on the plate. A perfect party theme for a little girl but Rex's facial expression tells it is not for boys. Your blog is a wonderful record of your family's adventures.

Lucy's party sounds like my kind of party!!! I love everything about it! That girl has style! haha ;) Her cake turned out sooo cute! How on earth did you make all of those bright layers of cake? Just knowing how much one box of cake mix is and how hard it is to come by makes me respect it even more! Nice work!! You are the best mom! I also love how easy going Jack is - falling asleep in his high chair - seriously?! If only Jamisen could be more chill like him! The pic of Rex is hilarious and says it all! Poor little guy! I also love the last pic of Lucy. She is growing up so much and is such a beautiful girl! We love her and all of her spunk!
